Judge Radhi To Testify on Thursday

After several weeks of delay, former Iraqi Judge Radhi al-Radhi, the forced-out anticorruption chief of Iraq, is schedule to testify before the House government oversight and reform committee on Thursday morning. I'm told that as of this afternoon all systems are go. Radhi can be expected to tell lawmakers that the government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is so corrupt it ought to be scrapped. Such testimony would raise an uncomfortable question for the White House: should U.S. soldiers die to create "breathing space" for a government that cannot deliver services or achieve political reconciliation? For my last update on Radhi and the congressional investigation triggered by his allegations, click here.
