September 12, 2006HUBRIS AppearancesOn Tuesday [note: I had originally said Wednesday here], Michael Isikoff and I appeared on Democracy Now to discuss Hubris: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War. You can hear or watch the show here. Next, I'm scheduled to appear on Fox News today between 1:00 and 2:00 pm. Other bookings are under way. David, our copy of your book arrived from Amazon while my daughter and son-in-law were visiting from Portland. They drove off with it...we'll purchase a new copy tomorrow.
Geez, they could have bought it at Powell's! Oh, well, what are parents for.
Thanks for your diligence.

it is still patriot day over here in pacifica.
what the hell is this?:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFxx1o84dj4
it's an 8 second clip of alleged ua175 striking the wtc2
of course it is but if you watch it several times you can get a handle on it, and then you can pause/start it and discover that the alleged plane is just a stupid looking shadowy black amputee (right wing missing) silhouette.
what? you are high!
perhaps, but nonetheless...anyway you can start/pause it and see that @3sec. the nose of this alleged ua175 pokes thru the back of the tower like an arrow before erupting in an explosion. in fact here is a still shot of this phenomenon: poke!
but how could the plastic nosecone of an aluminum 767 possibly do that?
i don't know but oddly enough if you look at a photo of that very same backside of wtc2 you see that there is no hole where good ol' poky was seen to have poked: no hole!
i did say that you were high did i not?
oh somebody is high alright, because if you look at this other clip of the exact same moment in time filmed from about a mile away from the location of the first clip you can see the very same stupid looking shadowy black amputee silhouette of a plane: pause @3secs.

the wtc towers did indeed explode into dust from the top down in only 10 seconds,
different mcmedia presentations of the same alleged plane do contradict each other,
there was absolutely no evidence of a 757 hitting the pentagon,
nor in shanksville,
and the fbi has stated that they have no hard evidence linking bin laden with 9/11.
the war on arabs is a frame-up and our so-called leaders are in fact an evil criminal regime.

The White House would like you to believe President Bush is putting politics aside as he leads the nation in remembrance of the September 11 terrorist attacks of five years ago.
But it's not true.
Yesterday was largely a day of images as the president and the first lady silently laid two wreaths at Ground Zero before attending a memorial service. But Bush couldn't resist making a few comments to reporters as he visited a lower Manhattan firehouse, quite possibly previewing his prime-time address tonight. Here's the transcript .
And while his comments were superficially apolitical and personal, his words were in fact carefully chosen to advance his agenda.
"I'm never going to forget the lessons of that day," Bush said.
He also called today's anniversary a "day of renewing resolve."
And calling attention to "the relatives of those who still grieve" he said: "I just wish there were some way we could make them whole."
Had Bush taken a less divisive course five years ago, those words could well have been embraced by all Americans.
But consider the context.
The president and his party are in grave political danger because most Americans believe he learned the wrong lessons from Sept. 11 -- certainly when it came to using the attacks as a rationale for embarking on war in Iraq.
Indeed, there's a compelling argument to be made that by learning the wrong lessons, Bush compounded the disaster of Sept. 11 -- creating more terrorists than he has killed, for instance, and endangering America's moral standing across the globe.
With a clear majority of Americans now advocating a withdrawal from Iraq, Bush's talk of "renewing resolve" was transparently self-serving. He doesn't have to say "Iraq" for everyone to know exactly what that means.
And -- while this is more speculative -- his comment about making the relatives whole could be the first sign of a White House PR campaign to use select Sept. 11 families to cast opponents of Bush's controversial anti-terror tactics as delaying justice for the victims.
What's also telling, as usual, is what Bush didn't say yesterday, and doesn't say, period.
He doesn't say we won't allow ourselves to be terrorized, and we won't be afraid. (That would run counter to the central Republican game plan for the mid-term election.) He doesn't say that in our zeal to fight the terrorists, we won't give up the qualities that make America great. He acknowledges no mistakes, he calls for no sacrifice, he refuses to reach out to those who disagree with him.

Kind of makes the "democrats will save us" sound a little absurd. But no less absurd than many "laws" passed with support from both parties. Bi-partisan has become the code word for the political robber barons and energy oligarchs that tells them the trough of public funds is open.
I wonder if the ultra wealthy could even count their riches without computers? Maybe the computers ability opened some Pandora's box and predatory capitalism is actually in the box - you know these "boxes" we are using?
Turn the computers off and the ultra wealthy would die of old age counting their monster piles of coin and currency.

14 was to 11
Seemed like a non sequitur with 12 & 13 between.
And here is a little piece of my reality. You know my old DSL modem went down. I had to wait a week. After two days I fire up the computer and I get a message that my hardware has changed and I had to reauthenticate my Windows XP and that I had three days.
I might have lost a file or something but it was surreal, I had to sign on to keep this copy of windows running but the reason I was down was the modem.
After three days Windows would not let me log on - without a DSL connection. Only then did I get a screen and a telephone number that reauthenticated with a computer generated voice.
My imagination was off into terminator land. I had to call an automated system (computer) to unlock my computer.

No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
1. The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
2. The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
3. The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.
4. The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.
now take a look at how bush really feels about 9/11 and america in general.

The editor of Popular Mechanics has twice stated about pictures he has seen of wreckage inside the Pentagon and the photos of the other 6-8 security camera's perched atop that captured the ''plane'' approaching the building. The editor of Popular Mechanics stated this on todays debate and earlier last month on a broadcast on an Arizona radio station. On the broadcast from Arizona, the host asked why the government would allow the editor of a magazine to view those photos but not the rest of the world. He didn't have an answer whatsoever---- except that he wasn't allowed to publish them. But he stood by his comment that HE was allowed to see them.

45 minutes remains of patriot day.
i think i will just set my clock ahead 45 minutes so it will be over with. here is my last show of patriotism on this, our national bushco holyday:
here is wtc2 less than 1/2 it's original size: poof!
where did the rest of it go? despite whatever nonsense NIST said, in order to have pancaking, a force is required to trigger the failure of the next floor. if the building above that floor has been pulverized, there can be no force pushing down. any pulverized material remaining over the footprint of the building will be suspended in the air and can't contribute to a downward force slamming onto the next floor.
10 seconds to poof! (try to deny it)
the poof! is in the pudding.
so. no one even hazarded a guess as to where the rest of wtc2 went (as it was exploding into dust from the top down. in only 10 seconds.)
it went here. a literal blanket of concrete powder covering the streets of NY. you can see by the dim sunlight that the majority of it remained suspended in the atmosphere. for several days.
ha, out.

DEN, now I've seen a few posts later you linked three sites about the Israelis. Thanks for the effort, but... I did the control-f shortcut and searched for "explosive residue" and it came up empty. Saved me a hella lot of reading. haha
I mean, even IF you could prove what you said about explosive residue, that's a looooong way from proving Israelis planted explosives in the towers. But no worry, because you didn't prove a fkn thing. How's the kool-aid? Cold enough for you? haha

Bush has no respect for the flag
He signs HIS name on it like it was his to do with as he pleases
Of course his festive use is a little more tasteful
A bumper sticker that could make you a potential terrorist
Not to be bettered by Darth Cheney
True globalists have no nation they have international accounts
Is this what out troops are dying for
Flag desecration is a specialty of Bush and his neo-nazis
And congress is worried about burning the flag? Burning is the traditional way to retire old glory. Talk about absurdities.

David I thought Russert's interview was weak at best. As a citizen I appreciate Russert's review of what Cheney said before the invasion. But when it came to playing hardball with Cheney when he repeated the claims about Iran's "alleged" WMD program. Instead of challenging these repeated claims by the Bush administration and the same folks who "cakewalked" our nation into Iraq. Russert responded to Cheney's claims about Iran by asking "How can we stop them". "HOW CAN WE STOP THEM". DEJA VU FOLKS. IS THIS ALL WE CAN EXPECT FROM RUSSERT?
As a citizen I expect more from journalist/reporter/commentators. After what the we witnessed in the run up to the pre-emptive invasion of Iraq, it would be logical for a journalist to ask Cheney "WHERE IS THE VERIFIABLE EVIDENCE TO BACK UP THESE CLAIMS ABOUT IRAN"?
"How can we stop them"? This is Russert playing hardball? Heaven help us if this is all we can expect from Russert and other news organizations.
Russert rolled over...I REPEAT RUSSERT ROLLED OVER giving Cheney every opportunity to move forward with the plan to strike Iran, to continue to set the stage for a pre-emptive strike in Iran....UNCHALLENGED.

Now here is the whopper! This is Russert's line of quesitioning on Iran.
"MR. RUSSERT: And were back with the vice president of the United States, Dick Cheney. Let me show you what Mr. Khatami from Iran, visiting the United States, had to say and read it to you and our viewers.
Former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami warned that U.S. military action in the Middle East has backfired, producing greater terrorism, imperiling the future of Iraq and damaging America long-term interests.
҂ut the danger of even great instability in the region will ultimately prevent the U.S. from launching military strikes against Iran over disputes about its nuclear intentions, he predicted. ...
ҁmerica will not make the same mistake of attacking Iran. ... Iran is not Iraq. Is he right?
VICE PRES. CHENEY: Well, we certainly understand Iran is not Iraq. Im not sure I would agree with much of what else he said. Obviously, were concerned about what Iran is up to. We think their pursuit of enrichment capability that would allow them ultimately to produce nuclear weapons is fundamentally a problem for that part of the world. Thats a view shared by most of our friends in the international community.
MR. RUSSERT: How do you stop them?"
HOW DO WE STOP THEM? HOW DO WE STOP THEM? THIS IS AS MUCH JOURNALISTIC MUSTER THAT RUSSERT CAN COME UP WITH?
Tim here are just a few suggestions for questions for Cheney and the repeated comments made about Iran's "alleged" I repeat "alleged" pursuit of nuclear weapons.
1. Where is the verifiable evidence to back up these repeated claims about Iran?
2. I repeat where is the fucking evidence to back up these repeated claims about Iran's "alleged pursuit of WMD's"
3. Russert if you do not read anything else but your own reports or only watch your own interviews you may be missing what Iaea Mr. El Baradei is saying "Iran is not an imminent threat". He has also said that there is "no" verifiable evidence to support these claims by the Bush administration.
4. Russert if you have not noticed many of the same military officials, Cia analyst and others who warned against the invasion of Iraq are questioning the claims being repeated about Iran.
Russert where were your challenging questions about the claims being made about Iran's "pursuit of nuclear weapons"?
" How can we stop them" just does not get it.

The Face of A Madman
Those of us who have watched Bush over the years already knew he was an arrogant SOB. We've also seen increasing evidence that questions his mental stability. Now, as he flits about the country trying, one more time, to sell his failed Iraq war and make political hay out of the 9/11 attacks, the nation gets more and more chances to look into the eyes of a madman.
Dr. Justin Frank, the prominent George Washington psychiatrist who wrote Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President, has cast a professional eye on Dubya for years. He doesn't like what his clinical and analytical mind finds.
"With every passing week, President Bush marches deeper and deeper into a world of his own making," Dr. Frank says. "Bush, when cornered, is a dangerous fighter. He makes choices that are not good for the country. They are good for him and for rubbing our noses in his shit."
We saw some of that in the Matt Lauer interview. Bush got in Lauer's face, jamming his finger at the reporter, shaking with rage.

Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld Diagnosed as 'War-aholics'
With the Democrats and the mainstream media enabling them, administration leaders are five years into a major war binge. They won't stop until they've hit bottom.
Waraholic (War-a-hol-ic) adj. 1. of, pertaining to, or caused by war 2. a person addicted to armed conflict 3. a person suffering from a diseased condition caused by an excessive use of war
On September 12th 2001 the Waraholics fell off the wagon and Democrats became the great enablers.
For Waraholics, the world is simple--- good and bad, friend or foe, patriot or traitor. God is always on their side.
For Waraholics, there are no bad wars, only wars badly fought. Vietnam wasn't a failure, but a missed opportunity.
For Waraholics, problems are solved with more troops, more bombing, more strategy, more tactics, and of course, more wars.
Gulf War I wasn't a success, but a failure to finish the job.
For Waraholics, negotiation, diplomacy, and international aid are for wimps. And the U.N. just gets in the way.

The thing that impressed me the most was that anyone so young would give a damn about politics and current affairs much less put so much effort into such a project. But I would estimate that roughly half the attendees were 25 or younger, I was really happy to see that! There are probably mistakes in their films, made because of lack of information, who can get any truth out of this administration? But overall they did an excellent job of showing that we have been lied to and getting people to start asking questions. In this they are a huge success in spite of our fascist, secret keeping govt.

Alan, allow me to point out this from the first link:
After the Israelis were arrested they misrepresented their location to one of the arresting police officers, Scott DeCarlo, claiming they were driving on West Side Highway in Manhattan when the planes struck the Trade Center. Dogs provided by the Bergen County Police K-9 unit alerted to the presence of explosives in the van. The nearby Homestead Studio Suites Hotel was evacuated for several hours. Asked about the Israelis in the van being present at Liberty State Park at the time of the first World Trade Center impact, one East Rutherford officer responded, "sure they were there."[14] Another confidential source told the Bergen County Record, "There are maps of the city in the car with certain places highlighted . . . It looked like they're hooked in with this. It looked like they knew what was going to happen when they were at Liberty State Park."[15] According to several Weehawken neighbors of the Urban Moving Systems warehouse, the FBI, upon searching the the warehouse, discovered fertilizer, other chemicals for making explosives, pipes, caps, and traces of anthrax. After anthrax was discovered, investigators wearing hazardous material suits went through the warehouse. Residents around Urban Moving Systems who had connections to the local police also reported that helicopters with infrared radar swooped in over the warehouse on several occasions.[16]
The second link said:
Although the truck had tested positive for explosives, and a thorough criminal investigation should have been conducted, the two were released to immigration authorities because one of them was carrying an expired passport. The two were reportedly being held for deportation.
And the last link there was this:
However, sources close to the investigation said they found other evidence linking the men to the bombing plot. "There are maps of the city in the car with certain places highlighted," the source said. "It looked like they're hooked in with this. It looked like they knew what was going to happen when they were at Liberty State Park."
Sources also said that bomb-sniffing dogs reacted as if they had detected explosives. The FBI seized the van for further testing, authorities said. Sources said the van was stopped as it headed east on Route 3, between the Hackensack River bridge and the Sheraton hotel. As a precaution, police shut down Route 3 traffic in both directions after the stop and evacuated a small roadside motel near the Sheraton.

Just Kidding!
Iran apparently has withdrawn its earlier offer to suspend uranium enrichment for an eight-week period to resolve the diplomatic standoff over its nuclear ambitions. They reversed themselves shortly after making the offer:
Iran still refuses to suspend nuclear enrichment before the start of talks on its nuclear program -a key demand by the six nations locked in a diplomatic standoff with the Islamic republic, officials said Tuesday.
Tehran offered over the weekend to suspend enrichment, which can produce fissile material for nuclear warheads, for up to two months. The willingness to consider such a halt was seen as an important opening.
But officials from delegations familiar with the outcome of the weekend's negotiations between Iranian and European negotiators said Tuesday that Iran had also made clear it would not halt enrichment before broader, six-power talks aimed at persuading Iran to agree to a long-term moratorium. They demanded anonymity in exchange for divulging confidential information.
So let's get this straight. They were willing to suspend uranium enrichment for eight weeks in order to boost the negotiations, but they want the negotiations first -- and then might agree to suspend their enrichment efforts? Riiiiiiiiight.
When does the global community realize they're being played? Certainly our own State Department should realize this by now. We know George Bush does. He said as much during his speech last night:
"If we do not defeat these enemies now, we will leave our children to face a Middle East overrun by terrorist states and radical dictators armed with nuclear weapons. We are in a war that will set the course for this new century and determine the destiny of millions across the world."
The mention of nuclear weapons was no accident. Bush knows that the Iranian threaten the stability of the entire region, and that they will use these weapons in one form or another if they manage to create them. The Iranians are not interested in MAD doctrines; they want to annihilate the Israelis and the Americans. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held an entire conference in Teheran this year on precisely this topic.
Nations such as Russia and China have a choice between appeasement and unity. We can avoid another destructive war if we can get the UN Security Council to place effective economic sanctions against the mullahcracy, which will not survive a serious economic downturn in Iran. They need trade to survive. If the Russians and Chinese prove as feckless as ever, they will do more than anyone to guarantee that this conflict will not get resolved through non-violent means ... just as they did with Iraq.

Do you realize how rude and obnoxious you are when you post entries from another blog in their entirety? Why can't you simply quote a passage (to allow other readers on the blog to see if they're interested) with a link? You're lucky David's kinder in regards to his comments than most bloggers or you'd be barred.

DEN, what I thought odd was the comment they made about our problem being their problem, namely the Palestinians. WTF was that supposed to mean? Alan "speculated" that they were laughing and dancing and high-fiving each other, taking pictures with the wreckage of the WTC's behind them and flicking their lighters like they were at a party, because they were SO happy that now their enemies would be attacked. Which enemies, the Palestinians? That was such a reach it made me laugh, and he insults US for speculation!

T-shirt a risk to air security ANDREW PARKER / London Sun | September 12 2006
A TOURIST was told to turn his T-shirt inside-out at an airport as a picture of two guns on it was deemed a SECURITY RISK.
Dave Osborne, 21, was bound for Newark, New Jersey, when guards hauled him out of the queue for his Guns N Rollers T-shirt.
They told him the two pistols on the front could constitute a security risk and upset passengers.
He was ordered to turn his top inside out before boarding.
The design engineer from Lichfield, Staffs, said: I am all for extra security but this was just plain stupid.
Last night bosses at Birmingham International Airport apologised and said security guards over-reacted.
MUSICIANS say a ban on taking instruments as hand luggage will sound the death knell for international concert tours. BBC Symphony Orchestra conductor Mark Elder said performers face enormous difficulty.

Sal, You mean this?
"We are Israeli. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are the problem."
Seems like a weak attempt to shift the blame to a cause against the Palestinians and away from THEIR obvious complicity.
Still today their obsession with the Palestinians requires them to attempt to "starve them out" by isolating them completely as in this article
All this is happening using American weaponry with the neo-conartists blessings.
The power structure in America and Israel is corrupt as can be with plenty of backscratching going on. No doubt in my mind that some portion of the Israeli government is responsible for 9/11 going off like clockwork, why else would all evidence be hidden from public view.

Here's an interesting poll.
Republicans read Playboy?
Playboy magazine commissioned a poll to address what it called a common misconception that the majority of its readers are liberal Democrats.
Really? People think only Democrats read Playboy? Who knew?
Playboy surveyed 1,000 people. Half were drawn from a nationally representative sample of adults age 21 and older, while the other half came from its subscriber rolls.
The odd premise aside, the magazine's "Playboy Voter" feature in this month's edition outlined the following conclusions from its survey:
- 79 percent of those surveyed voted in the 2004 presidential election, 15 percentage points higher than the national average.
- 36 percent of its readers are Republicans compared to 25 percent Democrat, 25 percent independent and 14 percent other parties.
- 72 percent of Playboy readers favor stem cell research compared with 61 percent of the non-reader group sampled.
- Half of Playboy's readers oppose a ban on gay marriage, double the number in the non-reader group.

Report links global warming, storms
Scientists say they have found what could be the key to ending a yearlong debate about what is making hurricanes more violent and common -- evidence that human-caused global warming is heating the ocean and providing more fuel for the world's deadliest storms.
For the past 13 months, researchers have debated whether humanity is to blame for a surge in hurricanes since the mid-1990s or whether the increased activity is merely a natural cycle that occurs every several decades.
Employing 80 computer simulations, scientists from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and other institutions concluded that there is only one answer: that the burning of fossil fuels, which warms the climate, is also heating the oceans.
Humans, Ben Santer, the report's lead author, told The Chronicle, are making hurricanes globally more violent "and violent hurricanes more common" -- at least, in the latter case, in the northern Atlantic Ocean. The findings were published Monday in the latest issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

whether gordon ross is wrong or not is beside the point - the only thing that counts is that the NIST report regarding the wtcs is nothing more than a 10,000 page continuation of a cover-up.
poor wtc2 just exploded and disintegrated from top to bottom in 10 seconds flat (that's 11 floors per second - a new world record!) after being subjected to relatively small fires that were almost entirely out an hour later. not to be outdone, wtc1 performed the exact same feat of magic 30 minutes later. and 7 hours after that their little wtc7 brother (no doubt simply overcome with grief) collapsed into it's own footprint in a classic controlled demolition manner taking all of 7 seconds. poor thing!
the loss of these buildings, which seemed to be very unpopular amongst the big $$ crowd, (not the loss, the buildings themselves), was terrible enough without an entire race of people being heinously villified for this in the most devious frame-up of all time (war on arabs!).
to blithely accept and even defend the perpetrator's frame-up explanations for 9/11 as if they were gospel is to not only dishonor the 9/11 victims memories, but to honor the alleged 19 villains.
i will never let any of you dwarfs forget this.

Political pressure and sober intelligence analysis dont mix well. Paul R. Pillar, who served as the CIAs National Intelligence Officer for the Near East and South Asia from 2000 to 2005, took that as a clear lesson from the Iraq war. So when a House intelligence committee issued a sharply worded report on Iran last week, Pillar had concerns. Authors of the studyRecognizing Iran as a Strategic Threat: An Intelligence Challenge for the United Stateschastised U.S. spy agencies for major gaps in our knowledge of Iranian nuclear, biological and chemical programs, and insisted that intelligence analysts must not shy away from provocative conclusions.
The report was immediately controversial. The New York Times said it seems intended to signal the intelligence community that the Republican leadership wants scarier assessments that would justify a more confrontational approach to Tehran.
Pillar, who retired from the CIA a year ago, spoke to NEWSWEEKs Jeffrey Bartholet at the offices of the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University, where hes on the faculty. Excerpts:
NEWSWEEK: The new intelligence committee report criticizes U.S. spy agencies for not providing enough evidence about Iranian weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs and ties to terrorism. Does this have echoes of Iraq and what you call the politicization of intelligence? Is it happening again?
Paul R. Pillar: I see worrisome signs of it happening again. When you have pressures coming from one place on the political spectrumwhich seem to be pressures to come up with evidence to support a conclusion that is already thereI take that as a worrisome sign of the same sort of thing. The bright side here is that the unhappiness of Iraq is still fresh enough in all of our minds we will all be on our guard.

Just when you thought Dennis Hastert had sunk as low as he could go he has proven that there was a false bottom to that barrel of his. I get the feeling he just doesn't give a rip what the public thinks.
Hastert Too Busy To Commemorate September 11 Until September 13
Yesterday was the five-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, but House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert had other priorities. According to a report in CongressDaily, he wasnմ able to schedule a vote "on a resolution to commemorate the day" until September 13.
Meanwhile, the House will have time today to consider:
- A bill to revise the boundaries of John H. Chafee Coastal Barrier Resources System Jekyll Island Unit
- The Lake Mattamuskeet Lodge Preservation Act
- A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 40 South Walnut Street in Chillicothe, Ohio, as the "Larry Cox Post Office."
Moreover, Hastert has packed the 9/11 resolution with partisan rhetoric:
[The resolution includes] language stating that "the nation is safer than it was back in Sept. 11, 2001," along with five paragraphs of language referencing a host of measures approved by Congress and signed into law by President Bush since the attacks, including the controversial USA PATRIOT Act..

Wayne Madsen today:
Sept. 12, 2006 -- According to sources who worked with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at Ground Zero on and after 911, residents of southern Manhattan and rescue and clean-up workers involved in the recovery operations at the site of the former World Trade Center are experiencing an unusually high rate of non-Hodgkin lymphoma -- a cancer that is common among individuals who have been exposed to extremely high levels of ionizing radiation, such as that from nuclear blasts and major nuclear reactor leaks. In addition to the respiratory problems among rescue workers at Ground Zero who breathed toxic "pulverized" concrete and other debris into their lungs, the radiation cancer is of extreme interest to researchers who suspect that the World Trade Center towers and Building 7 were brought down with the help of high energy releases. WMR spoke to a number of individuals who were at Ground Zero on 911 who are now experiencing symptoms resulting from severe damage to their immune systems -- a condition that is common among those exposed to high levels of radiation.
Sources close to FEMA in New York confirmed to WMR that the lymphoma cases are believed to be the result of a release of extremely high levels of radiation from a series of nuclear events on the morning of 911. They believe that explains the reason for the "pulverization" of concrete, molten metals, pyroclastic surges and fallout, and other anomalies resulting from the catastrophe. It was also pointed out that some vehicles parked on the west side of the World Trade Center were "fused" on the sides facing the towers -- the doors being melted into the body frames. Other cars parked nearby were not similarly affected. There is also evidence of explosions and fires on top of the Woolworth Building, three blocks away from the World Trade Center, during the attack on the towers.
FEMA officials from Washington, DC were quick to ban any unofficial photography in southern Manhattan in the weeks following 911. Any photographers who had not received prior permission from FEMA to be in southern Manhattan found their photographic and filming equipment confiscated by the government.
Nu-cu-lar radiation? The thick plottens!

Saladin and others. Last week at the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) website there were two articles in regard to the recent announcement about the expansion of the West Bank Settlements. I believe it was last Wednesday and Thursday under breaking news.
One had to do with the U.s. Department of Defense's negative response to this announcement, the other article had to do with Boltons hang up being linked to this announcement.

Thanks DEN. Although, like when Saladin posted this a long time ago, there's nothing but insinuation in those statements, and no facts. The towers weren't brought down by fertilizer and anthrax. haha
The statement "it looked like" was used more than once, which means nada. With 'proof' like that, it's no small wonder we never heard anything more about it. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be tried and convicted, sent to prison, with statements like... "your honor, it looked like he was going to rob that guy".
Which theory do you espouse, anyway? Do you back Steven Jones who says planes hit the building and thermite was also used, or do you like the 'no planes' theory and preplanted bombs?
Just curious. With the second theory, there would have to be at least two kinds of bombs because the first ones were fuel, with proof being the orange colored fireballs. I'm afraid that would set off any other pre-existing explosives, so the second wave would have to have been lugged up to the impact floors after that. It's all screwy and none make sense.

I watched an oustanding documentary about the World Trade Center on the PBS show NOVA last night.
"Building on Ground Zero" details some of the structural reasons for the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings, employing computer animation and 9/11 footage to explain a National Institute for Standards and Technology report on the subject.
Even I didn't realize the lengths the NIST went to to analyze the root causes for the collapse. I learned a lot about the actual mechanics of the collapse.
Another good thing about the program is that it delved into the lessons learned from the collapse and showed how new skyscrapers are being constructed. After comparing old vs. new, it really isn't hard to see how and why the twin towers failed.
This is must-see TV for anyone tempted to believe the outlandish theories floating around on the web.

to a large extent, the war on terror is a shabby promotional scheme designed to mobilize the nation for a permanent state of war while curtailing civil liberties. Theres nothing original in this analysis, but it does explain the importance of media as a vehicle for Bushs public relations campaign. It also explains why high-ranking officials in the administration are still provided unlimited air-time to reiterate the same bland bromides over and over again without being challenged.
It wont work.
The only way to get the public back "on board" is with a "massive casualty-producing event" in the United States. And, dont think they havent thought about that in Washington.
The only major problem with another 'event' this author mentions is that it will signal to both the American people and the world that the US is utterly, breath-takingly impotent to stop an attack, in spite of all the civil liberties this Administration has taken away from its people.
Every 'security precaution' taken will have meant absolutely nothing.

Wayne Madsen -
Isn't he the one quoted as saying, for attribution in the London Globe that George Bush and Condi Rice were having an affair?
(Globe reports, "Madsen says he's heard about 'intimate encounters between Bush and Rice on trips to New York City on multiple occasions, and in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.")
===========================================
Isn't he the one quoting Pope John Paul II as saying that George Bush was the Antichrist?
("Bush's blood lust, his repeated commitment to Christian beliefs, and his constant references to 'evil doers,' in the eyes of many devout Catholic leaders, bear all the hallmarks of the one warned about in the Book of Revelations - the anti-Christ. People close to the Pope claim that amid these concerns, the Pontiff wishes he was younger and in better health to confront the possibility that Bush may represent the person prophesized in Revelations.")
=================================================
Is he the one who stated with absolute certainty:
"WMR can confirm that the appearance of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales before the Grand Jury at the US Federal Courthouse in Washington was a formality in which the jury informed the Attorney General of their decision to indict Karl Rove."
=================================================
He's so unbiased that he never could have said:
"The nations of the world must learn how to cope with living on the same planet with a regime that has resurrected the Nazi war strategy of blitzkrieg' (lightning war) by adopting the concept of pre-emptive 'shock and awe' military strikes. Make no mistake about it, the Bush regime, which came to power through a manipulative election process and then conveniently used a domestic terrorist attack to seize unconstitutional powers, will stop at nothing from remaking the world according to its own concept of a 'new world order' subservient to the United States."
===============================================
This can't possibly be the unhinged nutcase you are quoting, is it?

is that so tim?
here is wtc2 less than 1/2 it's original size: poof! where did the rest of it go? despite what NIST or even your expert self claims, in order to have pancaking, a force is required to trigger the failure of the next floor. if the building above that floor has been pulverized, there can be no force pushing down. any pulverized material remaining over the footprint of the building will be suspended in the air and can't contribute to a downward force slamming onto the next floor.
it took only 10 seconds to poof
where did the rest of it go tim?

Den,
Fair enough. I just don't see the point. For example, you just said I couldn't find info on this because the agencies aren't cooperating with anyone. It's therefor extremely unlikely that Mr. Madsen is telling the truth about his "information." He probably just made it up himself, no?
Posted by: Tim at September 12, 2006 01:43 PM
Factchecker,
Who is this Madsen fella anyway? What's his background, M.O., etc.?
He comes across like a "kook's kook" to me!

Tim,
You're really not going to get anywhere arguing either for or against the conspiracy theories. I think people fairly well have their minds set on this matter.
Actually, to believe the conspiracists, one must now believe that both AlQaeda and the United States government were both in on the plot, as the recent tapes showing Bin Laden visiting with the hijackers have been released.

Video: Commanders privately express needing 3X more troops
U.S. Commanders in Iraq have privately expressed the need for an increase of three times the number of troops currently serving in Iraq, reports Michael Ware of CNN. Officially, the military continues to say that "we have an appropriate level of force to do what we have to do within the confines of our mission."
Ramadi has become a base of operations for Al Qaeda. Ware says, "Al Qaeda is almost untouched in its area of operations, and in the city of Ramadi itself, al Qaeda fighters are constantly attacking U.S. troops. Brigades sent to Ramadi are losing, on average, 100 American soldiers and Marines every year. And we don't see that abating. So, here's the heart of Al Qaeda in Iraq, and there's simply not enough troops and no strategy to combat it."
Al Qaeda leadership enjoys near free reign in an area north of the Euphrates which is the size of New Hampshire. The U.S. can only deploy a few hundred troops to this area. Ware laments, "They can do nothing to hamper al Qaeda's leadership in that area."

#95,
Can Madsen quotes #1 & #2 be disproven? Please do so if you can. (And don't worry; I know you can't figure out how to link so I'll be patient.)
Madsen was obviously wrong with quote #3.
Quote #4 seems reasonable enough to me.
Have a nice day!

America did not ask for this war, and every American wishes it were over. So do I. But the war is not over, and it will not be over until either we or the extremists emerge victorious. - The Wush
No Mr. Wush. America asked for this war. Colin Powell went to the U.N. and asked for this war. The U.N. did not authorize this war. Kofi Annan has called it an illegal action. You are continuing to lie to us, Mr. Wush.
As the media today shows pictures of Mr. al Maliki and Mr. Amadenijad embracing, just whose interests have you served, Mr. Wush?
As you used the disinformation from Mr. Chalabi to circumvent our own CIA, fed through such channels as Ms. Miller at the NYTIMES, whose interests have you served, Mr. Wush?
The "W" stands for WORST PRESIDENT EVER.
Mr. Wush, as you demonstrated last night, you do not even understand the difference between your functions as head of State, and head of Government.
As head of State, you had an obligation to the Nation to be chief mourner, in memorial to those who had died so tragically five years previously.
You, as you have since 9/11/01, instead used the event to lie again to the American people, and the world.
In doing so, you spit on the graves of the dead.
You keep bringing up the Second World War. The event in which your Grandfather, and many others of the Corporate Elite class, backed the Third Reich. We know about Union Bank, and IBM punch cards, and more. But, unlike FDR, who used the time to bring Republicans into his administration, in order to more fully unify the Nation, you, and your party have done everything in your power to exclude a full half or more of us from any input whatsoever.
Impeachment is only the the prelude to warcrimes trials, Mr. Wush. Bring it on.

Factchecker,
True. I did a little research just now on Mr. Madsen and he apparently is the king of fakes. In particular, I read the whole story on the de-bunking of his tall tale of electronic vote-stealing. You know, the one where he said President Bush wrote a $29 million check... LMAO!
Apparently his bread and butter is writing fiction, dressing it up with a few facts and spoon feeding it to gullible children!
Posted by: Tim at September 12, 2006 01:57 PM
Tim,
Suffice to say that Wayne Madsen writes for Lyndon Larouche publications.
Need I say more?

Alright you guys, it is up to YOU to decide what you will believe or not believe. If you do not like my posts, scroll past, if you do not like the person I post as a source, scroll past, I am merely the messenger not the author.
America is STILL a free speech zone, much to your obvious dismay, good day gentlemen!

I just got done watching Democracy Now....
What happened at the end? Is there more tomorrow? Who were the generals, voicing opposition to the war, who were not part of the parade to the TV networks?
Posted by: Jeanne at September 12, 2006 02:00 PM
Don,
No, I have no proof that they are false. Then, again, I didn't make the assertion. I don't have to prove a negative. Or have you never taken a logic course?
Do you have any proof that they are true, other than the word of Mr. Madsen?
Please tell me that you are more intelligent that the posts you make. Please, please.

Tim,
Perhaps you and I could arrange a meeting at your local No-tell Motel?
Suffice to say that I would satisfy you beyond your wildest dreams.
Posted by: factless at September 12, 2006 02:02 PM
Jeanne,
I believe that the generals said what was quoted. Further, I believe them to be correct. I am certainly no military expert, but when I read that militias are roaming free and hear of all the violence in the streets, there is really no other alternative. Why we don't have 500,000 pairs of boots on the ground there is beyond me.
Rumsfeld should have been fired a long time ago.

factless,
Your humorlessness is matched only by your arrogant condescension. Damn, but you're a self-righteous prig. Do you have children? If so, I pity them.
By the way, a schoolmarmish ability to correct spelling or grammar isn't an indication of intelligence. However, the ability to learn something certainly is a sign of intelligence; in fact, it's the very definition. Prove you have some by learning to link, OK?

"America did not ask for this war..." Bush
----------
Well technically Bush didn't. He demanded it. He and the rest of his administration bullied their way into the war with Iraq without a thought or plan to post war Iraq. Without a thought to loss of life. I don't know how leadership can be so lacking in leadership skills. I am continually amazed at their lack of...personality. They are psychopathic.

Funny how when the libs get their heads handed to them, metaphorically speaking, they resort to sophomoric potty talk.
Posted by: factchecker at September 12, 2006 02:10 PM
Hell no conspiracy here, the US government is Al Queda. how else could they trot out those made for consumption videos of Osama been forgotten at such opportune moments, he is much more valuable as a propaganda tool than as a prisoner, talk about high value individual, he should be getting some major bucks from bushco, oh wait he probably is. Damn so much money and so much BS from all of this. Want to bet that sooner or later he is proven to be a fake?

Well...there's always the draft, isn't there?

Don,
As usual, you don't address issues. Please respond to # 108.
Actually, some of you folks make this way too easy.
I announce a shootout of ideas and you bring a rock to the fight?
One would hope that you are not as financially and spiritually bankrupt as you are bereft of ideas.
Posted by: factchecker at September 12, 2006 02:18 PM
Factless, using the parenthetical phrase metaphorically speaking after the use of a metaphor is dreadful, cliched writing. You also unconciously prove what I wrote earlier: you're a condescending twit.
Tut-tut, factless, tut-tut!
Posted by: Don at September 12, 2006 02:19 PM
And, Don, being around you gives a fellow a lot about which to be arrogant and condescending.
Posted by: factchecker at September 12, 2006 02:22 PM
Don,
I assume you will never address #108, will you?
Posted by: factchecker at September 12, 2006 02:27 PM
And what is there to respond to in #108?
You whip up a bunch of quotes from a crank and I facetiously ask you to disprove the ones that can't be disproved.
Financially bankrupt? I own two businesses and I can afford to dick around with a moron like you on a slow afternoon. Spiritually bankrupt? This from the guy who says we need to kill people in massive quantities to bring peace to the world.
Give it a rest, factless. You're unarmed in a battle of wits.

I watched an oustanding documentary about the World Trade Center on the PBS show NOVA last night.
My mom called to ask if I watched that show last night. Pretty cool, huh? (I would have if at home, but f'ball was on all the TV's where I was) She watched it instead of the b/s 'path' show on ABC.
I checked the website and the whole show isn't available yet, but there's a good slide show to see 'n hear.
Impact to Collapse
The truth about exactly how the World Trade Center towers collapsed matters greatly, both to the families of those who perished and to the future safety of buildings in America and elsewhere. In the spring of 2002, Congress called upon the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to conduct a thorough investigation into the disaster. Civil engineer S. Shyam Sunder served as the lead investigator. In this audio slide show, Sunder describes the series of structural and fire-related events within the towers as they progressed toward catastrophic collapse. As a result of the study, NIST made recommendations for changes to building codes and standards.

the dog guarding the henhouse says that despite the feathers on his own face it was a fox that ate the chicken and that he (dog) must now hunt down and eradicate the foxes responsible for the loss of the chicken. he holds up a feather that he discovers on the ground as justification for the foxhunt that he has been planning since long before the loss of the chicken (which had stopped producing eggs long ago).
despite the huge increase in dogfood expenditures that it takes to track down the ever elusive foxes the dog never seems to bring home a fox, all the while claiming that if the dogfood budget is not increased yet again the foxes will certainly manage to take another chicken right out from under the other chicken's noses. the dog gets fatter and fatter with the incredible amount of dogfood that he is receiving and the chickens who are getting thinner and thinner because the dogfood budget is cutting into their chickenfeed budget are for some reason more than happy to sacrifice their own food for that of the dog who never misses an opportunity to remind the starving chickens that there is a fox out there somewhere who has already taken a chicken (the one that was not productive) and it was merely a coincidence that he (dog) had feathers on his own face at the time.
"don't worry chickens we will just dip into the chickenfeed budget once more and purchase a bright shiny new chicken that hopefully will lay many eggs! and it's merely a coincidence that i (dog) am also the owner of the new chicken lot!"

According to accounts from five former and current government officials who were briefed on the case, F.B.I. agents accompanied by intelligence officers initially questioned him using standard interview techniques. They bathed Mr. Zubaydah, changed his bandages, gave him water, urged improved medical care, and spoke with him in Arabic and English, languages in which he is fluent.
To convince him they knew details of his activities, the agents brought a box of blank audiotapes which they said contained recordings of his phone conversations, but were actually empty. As the F.B.I. worked with C.I.A. officers who were present, Mr. Zubaydah soon began to provide intelligence insights into Al Qaeda.
For the C.I.A., Mr. Zubaydah was a test case for an evolving new role, conceived after Sept. 11, in which the agency was to act as jailer and interrogator for terrorism suspects.
According to accounts by three former intelligence officials, the C.I.A. understood that the legal foundation for its role had been spelled out in a sweeping classified directive signed by Mr. Bush on Sept. 17, 2001. The directive, known as a memorandum of notification, authorized the C.I.A. for the first time to capture, detain and interrogate terrorism suspects, providing the foundation for what became its secret prison system.

Bush's Orwellian campaign of deception, distraction, and linguistic legerdemain
by Len Hart | Sep 12 2006 - 10:06am | permalink
We best observe the anniversary of 911 by reflecting upon the fraudulent nature of Bush's various "wars" his war of deception, distraction, and Orwellian legerdemain. Just how great is the so-called terrorist threat? I am confident that you will find many authoritative sources for the following fact: your chances of getting killed by a terrorist are about point 0000001%. And we gave up our freedom for that?
