Now that Richard Armitage has confessed and explained his role in the Plame leak, a simple question: will Karl Rove do the same? I tease this out further here.

Mr. David Corn,
Batting a 1000!
The hits just keep on coming.
How about Bush making good on his promises about leakers (he KNEW but lied about?)
With your help we can make sure that our elected Representatives in Congress understand that if they move to violate the God-given rights of our children and grandchildren through mandatory national service programs or an outright military draft, we won't just be concerned, we'll give new meaning to the old saying, "When momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"
I reordered HUBRIS and used a "free trial" of Amazon Prime for one day shipping at $3.99 and will enjoy that rate for one day shipping until December 6th!
Where is it written in the Constitution, in what article or section is it contained, that you may take children from their parents, and parents from their children, and compel them to fight the battles of any war, in which the folly or the wickedness of Government may engage it? An attempt to maintain this doctrine upon the provisions of the Constitution is an exercise of perverse ingenuity to extract slavery from the substance of a free Government.
"She was operations chief of the Joint Task Force on Iraq, a unit of the Counterproliferation Division of the clandestine Directorate of Operations. For the two years prior to her outing, Valerie Wilson worked to gather intelligence that would support the Bush White House's assertion that Saddam Hussein's Iraq was loaded with WMDs.
"This means that Armitage--as well as Karl Rove and Scooter Libby--leaked classified information about a CIA officer whose job it had been to look for evidence of Saddam's WMD programs. During this part of her career, Valerie Wilson traveled overseas to monitor operations she and her staff at JTFI were mounting. She was no analyst, no desk-jockey, no paper-pusher. She was in charge of running critical covert operations.
"Some Bush-backers have dismissed the CIA/Plame leak as unimportant and claimed that Valerie Wilson was an analyst and not truly an undercover CIA officer. In an October 1, 2003 column, Novak reported she was 'an analyst, not in covert operations.'
"'Hubris' and The Nation article, citing CIA sources, disclose that she was in covert operations and that--ironically--she had spent two years trying to find proof of the administration's claims that Iraq posed a WMD threat. She and the Joint Task Force on Iraq, of course, came up empty-handed. 'Hubris' and The Nation piece also report new revelations that undermine the charge that Valerie Wilson sent her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, on his trip to Niger."
In the article, Corn writes, concerning that latter point: "In an interview with the authors, Douglas Rohn, a State Department officer who wrote a crucial memo related to the trip, acknowledges he may have inadvertently created a misimpression that her involvement was more significant than it had been."
Armitage said: "This was bad, and I really felt badly about this."
He felt so poorly that he never bothered to admit it? He let Rove, Scooter, almost the big Dick himself go before a "Grand" Jury. What exactly was he waiting for? Hubris?
Get an "Ad-blocker" and you will never see the ad's.
I have been using "Norton" for years - years ago it was one of the only real utilities for programers, now just one of the many but the ad-blocker function has saved me from PJ Media ad's (sorry David).
My DSL modem failed right before the long weekend and it took until today to get it going again.
It is good to be back, been missing all of you all!
I wonder if Armitage would get the same pass if he just gossiped about a state secret?
I think Chi-Girl has been spot on asking why he should not be prosecuted for the leak - gossip or not he toasted PlameÕs career with the help of Rove and Libby. Not to mention the WMD work being done by Brewster-Jennings
This mal-administration wants to pretend the occupation of Iraq is a war - how about that leak during wartime?
Hanging offense? Firing squad?
Armitage is a neo-slug he could have come forward at any time and cleared the air. He is a coward and a traitor in my book.
Give it up already, you are such a jerk. For months you hammered away at Rove, Libby, Bush, and Cheney as the evil leakers. As it turns out this whole thing is a big non-story.
Reality Check: Fitzgerald knew the leaker from the beginning, Plame was never undercover, Wilson went to Niger after he and his wife dreamed up a lame "fact-finding mission" which was really a political stunt, and the leaker turned out to be an anti-war dove from the State Department! White House not involved.
Enough already, stop grasping at the air trying to keep this non-story alive (obviously to further your "Bush and his buddies are evil" agenda). Retract all your anti-Bush, anti-Rove, anti-Cheney, and anti-Libby babble from the past few years and apologize.
The sooner you do that the sooner you can get on to your next "scoop" and write your next fallacious book. Can't wait.

9/11 conspiracy theorists multiply
Many Americans suspect U.S. government involvement or complicity
By Michael Powell
Updated: 29 minutes ago
NEW YORK - He felt no shiver of doubt in those first terrible hours.
He watched the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and assumed al-Qaeda had wreaked terrible vengeance. He listened to anchors and military experts and assumed the facts of Sept. 11, 2001, were as stated on the screen.
It was a year before David Ray Griffin, an eminent liberal theologian and philosopher, began his stroll down the path of disbelief. He wondered why Bush listened to a child's story while the nation was attacked and how Osama bin Laden, America's Public Enemy No. 1, escaped in the mountains of Tora Bora.
? More U.S. news
He wondered why 110-story towers crashed and military jets failed to intercept even one airliner. He read the 9/11 Commission report with a swell of anger. Contradictions were ignored and no military or civilian official was reprimanded, much less cashiered.
"To me, the report read as a cartoon." White-haired and courtly, Griffin sits on a couch in a hotel lobby in Manhattan, unspooling words in that reasonable Presbyterian minister's voice. "It's a much greater stretch to accept the official conspiracy story than to consider the alternatives."
Such as?
"There was massive complicity in this attack by U.S. government operatives."
If that feels like a skip off the cliff of established reality, more Americans are in free fall than you might guess. There are few more startling measures of American distrust of leaders than the widespread belief that the Bush administration had a hand in the attacks of Sept. 11 in order to spark an invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq.
A recent Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll of 1,010 Americans found that 36 percent suspect the U.S. government promoted the attacks or intentionally sat on its hands. Sixteen percent believe explosives brought down the towers. Twelve percent believe a cruise missile hit the Pentagon.
Distrust near Ground Zero
Distrust percolates more strongly near Ground Zero. A Zogby International poll of New York City residents two years ago found 49.3 percent believed the government "consciously failed to act."
You could dismiss this as a louder than usual howl from the CIA-controls-my-thoughts-through-the-filling-in-my-molar crowd. Establishment assessments of the believers tend toward the psychotherapeutic. Many academics, politicians and thinkers left, right and center say the conspiracy theories are a case of one plus one equals five. It's a piling up of improbabilities.
Thomas Eager, a professor of materials science at MIT, has studied the collapse of the twin towers. "At first, I thought it was amazing that the buildings would come down in their own footprints," Eager says. "Then I realized that it wasn't that amazing -- it's the only way a building that weighs a million tons and is 95 percent air can come down."
But the chatter out there is loud enough for the National Institute of Standards and Technology to post a Web "fact sheet" poking holes in the conspiracy theories and defending its report on the towers.
Yeah, as if . . .
The loose agglomeration known as the "9/11 Truth Movement" has stopped looking for truth from the government. As cacophonous and free-range a bunch of conspiracists anywhere this side of Guy Fawkes, they produce hip-hop inflected documentaries and scholarly conferences. The Web is their mother lode. Every citizen is a researcher. There's nothing like a triple, Google-fed epiphany lighting up the laptop at 2:44 a.m.
Did you see that the CIA met with bin Laden in a hospital room in Dubai? Check out this Pakistani site, there are really weird doings in Baluchistan . . .
The academic wing is led by Griffin, who founded the Center for a Postmodern World at Claremont University; James Fetzer, a tenured philosopher at the University of Minnesota (Fetzer's an old hand in JFK assassination research); and Daniel Orr, the retired chairman of the economics department at the University of Illinois. The movement's de facto minister of engineering is Steven Jones, a tenured physics professor at Brigham Young University, who's studied vectors and velocities and tested explosives and concluded that the collapse of the twin towers is best explained as controlled demolition, sped by a thousand pounds of high-grade thermite.
?Possible war criminal?
Former Reagan aide Barbara Honegger is a senior military affairs journalist at the Naval Postgraduate School in California. She's convinced, based on her freelance research, that a bomb went off about six minutes before an airplane hit the Pentagon -- or didn't hit it, as some believe the case may be. Catherine Austin Fitts served as assistant secretary of housing in the first President Bush's administration and gained a fine reputation as a fraud buster; David Bowman was chief of advanced space programs under presidents Ford and Carter. Fitts and Bowman agree that the "most unbelievable conspiracy" theory is the one retailed by the government.
So Capt:
What do you think about bu$chco's new "fascist" line. Convenient isn't it? The way I see it they see the floor falling out from under. And what better way to get back on track, than to remember the good ol' days. The "greatest" generation, they have some big balls don't they?
This WH does not care one lick. The pending neochronic landslide in November will be the man-date to start military action in Iran or any place where they "hate our freedom".
The "fascist" line it just too corny and stale. It is the Rovian response to our home grown neo-fascism and the coordination of nomenclature is a bit obvious.
Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove withheld a crucial email from CIA leak investigators for eleven months, according to an upcoming book that arrives in bookstores today.
In the new book, HUBRIS: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War, veteran Newsweek reporter Michael Isikoff and Nation Washington editor David Corn reveal they obtained a copy of the printed-out email sent by Rove to then-Deputy National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley in July 2003.
The printout is dated in November of 2003. Rove's lawyer -- Robert Luskin -- didn't turn the email over to the special prosecutor investigating the outing of a CIA officer until October 2004.
In the e-mail, according to Isikoff's account in a Newsweek story last year, Rove said Time Magazine reporter Matt Cooper pushed him on whether the president was being hurt by a controversy over the validity of intelligence which claimed Iraq had sought uranium from the African country of Niger ('evidence' of Iraq's attempts to obtain WMDs which later emerged had been fabricated).
Asked in June 2004 if he'd stand by his pledge to fire anyone found to have leaked, Bush replied "yes." [Bush Press Conference: Savannah, GA, 6/10/04]
When the White House was asked specifically whether Karl Rove, Elliot Abrams or Lewis Libby told any reporter that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said: "Those individuals -- I talked -- I spoke with those individuals, as I pointed out, and those individuals assured me they were not involved in this. And that's where it stands." [White House Briefing, 10/10/03]
"I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action." [Bush Remarks: Chicago, Illinois, 9/30/03]
"The President has set high standards, the highest of standards for people in his administration. He's made it very clear to people in his administration that he expects them to adhere to the highest standards of conduct. If anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration." [White House Briefing, 9/29/03]
What a bunch of liars, eh? They KNEW, even Fitz knew. That is how Fitz KNEW Libby was lying. The only real question is why do any of these slugs still have security clearances?
He [Rove] is no longer under investigation. But he did play a critical role in the leak case by confirming Armitage's information for Novak and then (before the Novak column appeared) leaking the same classified information to Matt Cooper of Time, as part of a campaign to discredit Joseph Wilson.
"Coordination of nomenclatureÓ
Too funny, I've never heard the word "Nomenclature" used outside the engineering field, much less in a political context? It works though. Hey check this page out. A great Midwestern liberal rag, I had hoped to link to the "Good war on Terror" article, but it won't be up till maybe tomorrow. Excellent monthly news mag, I highly recommend it.
A leak? What leak? The word leak implies intention. Was it Armitage's intention to leak Plame's identity? No it wasn't.
Thanks guys, we have now spent three years on this White House leak conspiracy which wasn't a conspiracy at all or even a leak, in the sense of what the word leak means in the parlance of Washington.

Dick Morris: Clinton Attack 'Outrageous'
Dick Morris
Friday, Sept. 8, 2006
The attack by Bill Clinton and his allies on the upcoming ABC miniseries "The Path to 9/11" is "outrageous," charges former Clinton aide Dick Morris.
As NewsMax has reported, Clinton through his surrogates have demanded that ABC "correct all errors" in the docudrama or pull it from the air, charging that it is a "fictitious rewriting of history" regarding Clinton's handling of the terrorist threat.
But Morris claims that Clinton's national security adviser, Sandy Berger, and the president himself "were both responsible for failing to catch or kill Osama bin Laden on several different occasions."
Morris served Clinton as an adviser for 20 years and notably as Clinton's senior campaign strategist during his 1996 re-election.
Morris states that the evidence for this failure is documented in the 9/11 Commission's report and summarized in "Because He Could," the book about Clinton that Morris co-authored with his wife Eileen McGann.
The commission's report, released in the summer of 2004, "highlighted the weak, incompetent, hesitant, and inconsistent attempts of the Clinton administration to kill or capture Osama bin Laden," according to the book, which devotes an entire chapter to Clinton's mishandling of the threat.
"The report's account shows the president and his advisers at their worst."
One time, the United States "canceled an attempt to kidnap bin Laden out of concern that we might injure or kill him and be accused of using assassination as a policy tool," Morris told NewsMax.
"The president had yet to make a finding that it was OK to kill bin Laden. The reason he had not is that he did not yet know bin Laden's connection to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The reason he did not know that is that he did not fast-track the investigation.
"A second time, we did fire missiles but alerted the Pakistani military to our plans and they tipped off bin Laden, and he escaped."
According to the commission's report, the United States alerted Pakistan because the missiles targeting bin Laden, who was in Afghanistan, had to cross Pakistan, and U.S. officials did not want Pakistan to think the missiles came from India.
"A third time, our plans to attack by missile were canceled, partially out of chagrin over having missed him before and partially because we had just bombed the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade by mistake and were worried about being called trigger happy," said Morris.
"The president was also concerned about civilian deaths in any such attack.
"The underlying theme of the ABC coverage, that he was distracted by impeachment, is of course true. But more so, he was gun-shy" because he was afraid conservatives would say he had launched a failed attack "in an effort to 'wag the dog' and distract people from the Monica Lewinsky affair."
Morris concluded: "His fear of such attacks on him inhibited him from acting."
(updated below - updated again - and updated again)
When CBS announced in November, 2003 that it would broadcast a mini-series it produced about Ronald and Nancy Reagan called "The Reagans," Matt Drudge obtained excerpts from the script and published them. That led to right-wing bloggers, organizations and pundits, along with the RNC itself, demanding that CBS cancel the broadcast, which it did (moving it instead to Showtime, with a panel discussion afterwards filled with critics of the film).
Those who wanted the mini-series cancelled back then were making arguments which are highly relevant -- for reasons that are self-evident -- to ABC's plans to broadcast an indisputably fictionalized mini-series about 9/11, a film which includes exactly the fabricated dialogues and historical events which served as the ostensible basis for outrage over The Reagans:
Typical two-faced feckless neocons. How can it be wrong for the Reagan's but oh so Reich for the Clinton's? Why worry about facts when you have such strong (but wrong) beliefs?
That is called relative values and any idiots knows right is right, right?
Brent Bozell, founder of the Media Research Center, scoffed at the notion that CBS was stifling free speech. "There is no such thing as creative license to invent falsehoods about people," Bozell said. "I don't care who you are. You don't have that right."
Some conservatives were unhappy that the program would be aired at all. "I donÕt know the misinforming fewer viewers on Showtime solves the problem," said Jim Dyke Republican National Committee.
Judging from the accounts that have been creeping into the press and the promotional bits played by Matt Drudge as a fill-in host on Rush Limbaugh's radio show, the miniseries is a vicious smear of Reagan and his wife Nancy. . . .

Body Count in Baghdad Nearly Triples
Morgue's Revised Toll for August Undermines Claims by Leaders of Steep Drop in Violence
By Ellen Knickmeyer
Washington Post Foreign Service
Friday, September 8, 2006;
BAGHDAD, Sept. 7 -- Baghdad's morgue almost tripled its count for violent deaths in Iraq's capital during August from 550 to 1,536, authorities said Thursday, appearing to erase most of what U.S. generals and Iraqi leaders had touted as evidence of progress in a major security operation to restore order in the capital. Separately, the Health Ministry confirmed Thursday that it planned to construct two new branch morgues in Baghdad and add doctors and refrigerator units to raise capacity to as many as 250 corpses a day. The morgue expansion plans and the final body count for August show the dramatic surge in violence in Baghdad since U.S.-led foreign troops entered Iraq in 2003. Baghdad's morgue chiefly handles unidentified gunshot victims, now predominantly shot execution-style and often found with hands bound and showing signs of torture. Since the spring, as sectarian violence has mounted, monthly counts of civilian casualties have reached the highest levels of the war, topping 1,800 at the Baghdad morgue in July. At least 3,438 Iraqis were killed across the country that month, according to Iraqi government figures, nearing the total of roughly 5,000 for the entire first year of the war.

Confirmation of CIA Prisons Leaves Europeans Mistrustful
By John Ward Anderson
Washington Post Foreign Service
Friday, September 8, 2006; Page A08
PARIS, President Bush's transfer of terrorism suspects out of secret CIA prisons to the Guantanamo detention facility would do little to repair transatlantic distrust that has grown in recent years, political analysts in France and other European countries said Thursday. "How willing a really liberal Democrat is to listen to George Bush -- that's about how willing the French are," said Nicole Bacharan, an expert on French-American relations at the Institute for Political Studies in Paris. Bush's acknowledgment Wednesday of the CIA prisons' existence -- and his refusal to say where they were -- touched off new demands in Europe for a full accounting of the locations. The Washington Post reported last year that some were in Eastern Europe, but it did not name countries at the request of U.S. officials. Poland and Romania, called likely locations by European investigators, issued new denials Thursday that such prisons were on their soil. The CIA's detention of the suspects drew support from Australia, a close U.S. ally, where Foreign Minister Alexander Downer told Parliament that "a great deal has been achieved through these kinds of programs." He said that interrogations had led to the arrest of senior terrorism suspects. U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, visiting Spain, took an opposing view. "I cannot believe that there can be a trade between the effective fight against terrorism and protection of civil liberties," he said. "If as individuals we are asked to give up our freedom, our liberties, our human rights, as protection against terrorism, do we in the end have protection?"

Believe It or Not
By Dan Froomkin
Special to washingtonpost.com
Thursday, September 7, 2006; 12:52 PM
White House reporters sometimes see right through the official line. For instance, White House aides repeatedly insisted yesterday that President Bush's surprise announcement about detainee policy had nothing to do with the upcoming election. The press corps didn't buy it. Rather, they identified it as a bold political gambit, cleverly and effectively designed to change the subject from the unpopular war in Iraq to the more Republican-friendly topic of national security and Sept. 11.
Undoubtedly, it was a big news day. And there were some noteworthy reversals in the administration's positions. For instance, after months of expressing fury over The Washington Post's disclosure of a network of secret CIA prisons around the world, Bush suddenly championed them and announced the transfer of the network's last 14 high-profile prisoners to Guantanamo Bay. A new military code was released yesterday that would appear to put the armed forces' interrogation techniques firmly in line with international standards. And Bush, almost five years late, is finally and officially recognizing that Congress has a role in setting up a legal system for detainees. But in his core defense of his administration's treatment of detainees, was Bush credible?

Tri Blog, do you remember when Ronald Reagan cut and ran in a New York minute? When wiser people told him not to place our troops in harms way in Lebanon Mr. Reagan went ahead and put them in Beirut anyway? It resulted in 350 dead marines. What did it accomplish? It gave birth to Hezbollah! Great job!........ The moment we leave, much of the fuel that fires Muslim discontent will be quelled.

WHY DID REGAN IGNORE "WISER PEOPLE" AND SEND AMERICAN TROOPS TO LEBONON?
The Multinational Force in Lebanon (also MNF) was an international peacekeeping force created in 1982 and sent to Lebanon to oversee the withdrawal of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. The participants included contingents of United States Marines, French paratroopers, Italian soldiers, and British soldiers.
Ok-LEE let's look at the hisory of Hezbollah:
Timeline of Hezbollah Violence
Hezbollah and its history of international terrorism and violence:
1982: Israel invades Lebanon to drive out the PLOճ terrorist army, which had frequently attacked Israel from its informal "state-within-a-state" in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah, a Shiite group inspired by the teachings and revolution of Iranճ Ayatollah Khomeini, is created with the assistance of Iranճ Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. The group is called HezbollahЯr "party of God"Рafter initially taking responsibility for attacks under the name "Islamic Jihad." (Not to be confused with the Palestinian terror organization Islamic Jihad.)
July 19, 1982: The president of the American University in Beirut, Davis S. Dodge, is kidnapped. Hezbollah is believed to be behind this and most of the other 30 Westerners kidnapped over the next ten years.
April 18, 1983: Hezbollah attacks the U.S. embassy in Beirut with a car bomb, killing 63 people, 17 of whom were American citizens.
Oct. 23, 1983: The group attacks U.S. Marine barracks with a truck bomb, killing 241 American military personnel stationed in Beirut as part of a peace-keeping force. A separate attack against the French military compound in Beirut kills 58.
As you can see, LEE, Regan did not "(give)birth to Hezbollah!" as you claim, Hezbollah was created in 1982,after '1982: Israel invades Lebanon to drive out the PLOÕ³ terrorist army, which had frequently attacked Israel from its informal "state-within-a-state" in southern Lebanon.'
WOW, first it was the PLO that was a "state-within-a-state" in southern Lebanon in 1982 now it is Hesbollah that was acting as a "state-within-a-state" in southern Lebanon in 2005/06!
When will Lebanon ever be able to shake off the ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALIST that want attack ISREAL FROM LEBONNONS sothern boarder? As for your statment that " The moment we leave, much of the fuel that fires Muslim discontent will be quelled." it just is not true. WHEN ISREAL FINNALY LEFT LEBANNON,AS ONE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT LEBANNON WAS TO DISARM HESBOLLA, BUT THEY NEVER DID, as proven by the hundreds of rockets that were fired into ISREAL this summer. WHY IS IT THAT EVERY TIME ISREAL DEFENDS THEMSELVFS THEREIS A CALL FOR AN "international peacekeeping force" THAT MAY TEMPORARLY STOP THE VIOLENCE, BUT NEVER FOR VERY LONG. WHEN THE "PEACE KEEPERS" ARE BOMBED THE ONES DOING THE BOMBING GET A FREE PASS AND THE US IS ACCUSED OF BEING WHERE THEY ARE NOT WANTED!, LIKE IN IRAQ, WERE MUSLIMS ARE KILLING MUSLIMS AND AMRERICA IS BLAMED FOR IT?!
You are right that Reagan was wrong for his cut and run policies, but why would we continue these unsuscessful policies today?

"HUBRIS" is the word of the year -- just as it could have been 24 centuries ago.
The Greek term for "excessive pride or self-confidence" was chosen by 41 percent of the nearly 2,300 SFGate readers who participated in our online poll. "Disaster," which got the most nominations from readers, finished second.
"HUBRIS" joins four far more modern words -- "nine-eleven," "nukular," "metrosexual" and "red state/blue state" -- as a winner of the five-year-old SFGate.com contest.
Hubris was a central theme of Sophocles' play about the fall of King Oedipus, which was honored at Athens' annual drama festival about 427 B.C.
This year, numerous commentators cited hubris as the cause of what they considered human overreaching, from the below-sea-level development of New Orleans to the U.S. war in Iraq.
Reached by river ferry at his home in Hades, the shade of Oedipus allegedly commented: "Can't the media just forget about my lapse in judgment after all these centuries? 'Tis enough to give one a complex."
"...as proven by the hundreds of rockets that were fired into ISREAL this summer. WHY IS IT THAT EVERY TIME ISREAL DEFENDS THEMSELVFS THEREIS A CALL FOR AN "international peacekeeping force..."

Good morning, Tre Beloc! I've said it before, and I say it again: The Hezbollah rockets was NOT the cause for the attack on Lebanon, it was the capture of two Israeli soldiers on July 12. On July 13., Israel launched a massive airstrike on Beirut Airport, followed by artillery shelling and arial attacks on South Lebanon the next couple of days. On July 16., the first Hezbollah rockets landed on Israeli soil in this last conflict. Sadly, this resulted in 8 fatalities in a street-cart garage in Haifa. It's a tragedy for everyone when they're exposed to ordenance falling from the sky, wether you're Lebanese or Israeli. So, Hezbollah rockets did NOT trigger the last conflict. You may check this with any independent news media you like.

Palestinians tell Blair: you are not welcome here
Hundreds sign advert in advance of Ramallah visit
PM to meet Olmert and Abbas, but not Hamas
Rory McCarthy in Jerusalem
Friday September 8, 2006
The Guardian
Hundreds of Palestinians signed a newspaper advertisement yesterday criticising Tony Blair and telling him he would not be welcome when he arrives on a Middle East visit expected this weekend. The advertisement, which appeared in the Palestinian al-Ayyam newspaper, rounded on the British prime minister for what it said was his pro-Israeli stance in the region, particularly over the recent war in Lebanon.
"He is coming here in order to wash his hands, that are dripping with Lebanese blood, with Palestinian water," it said. "We the signatories ... notables, intellectuals and political figures declare that Tony Blair is persona non grata in our country." Hundreds of people signed up to the statement, including members of small political parties, university professors, political activists and ordinary Palestinians. Neither the ruling Hamas party nor its political rival Fatah signed.
I wonder if he's welcome back home when he returns to UK?

Belgian neo-Nazis in 'terror plot'
Nicholas Watt in Brussels
Friday September 8, 2006
The Guardian
Belgian police yesterday arrested 17 alleged neo-Nazis, mostly serving soldiers, who were said to be planning to destabilise the country's institutions in a series of terrorist attacks. In simultaneous raids on five army barracks and 18 private addresses across the northern Flanders half of Belgium, police uncovered a homemade bomb and numerous weapons.
The raids by 150 police officers in East Flanders, Antwerp and Limburg were the most dramatic breakthrough in a two-year investigation into far-right activists allegedly operating inside the armed forces. The federal prosecutor's office, which is not limited by the sort of pre-trial restrictions in force in Britain, described the arrested people as mainly "soldiers and people with an extreme right ideology who clearly express themselves through racism, xenophobia, Holocaust denial, anti-semitism and neo-Nazism". The main suspect, who is a member of the neo-Nazi Blood and Honour Flanders group, recruited in military bases throughout Flanders, the Flemish-speaking half of Belgium. The arrests are likely to have a strong impact in Belgium, where mainstream politicians are bracing themselves for significant advances by the hard-right Vlaams Belang party in next month's local elections. The party insists it is non-violent, however, and distances itself from neo-Nazis.
-----------------------------
Oh, was'nt it that only the "Islamo Facists" was planning terrorist acts? I don't think those Belgium "Facists" are supporters of the other "Facist" group. (White Power, eh?).

My wife has had a subscription to "In These Times" for years. I think it has some real good "reporting". I try to read most of it, but some of it is even a little to left for me, but I respect most arguments. That, half a pack of smokes, and half a brain will get you were you need to go. Unless your name is George Ryan Oh the republicans, they are so "Right".
"gets his wish and is sent to the federal facility in Oxford, Wis."
I've been in this prison. 28 miles northeast of the dells. Medium security, federal joint. I was there for a couple weeks replacing some medium voltage distribution. The best (and only) prison cafeteria I've ever eatin at. I'm sure "George" will enjoy himself there. Don't you find it odd that a Republican Governor is headed to the federal joint and some animal planet, crocodile wrestler, gets all the press? Maybe George will kill himself! Maybe there will be some large Animals for him to fight?
The Hezbollah rockets was NOT the cause for the attack on Lebanon, it was the capture of two Israeli soldiers on July 12.

GOOD DAY MR. Krange,
NO, the attacks were not started by rocket attacks from Lebbonon, but as i stated before Lebbanon was to dis-arm Hezbolla after Isreal retreated from Lebbbanon, and the proof that they didnt is the rockets that were fired by Hezbolla went Isreal decided to protect its sovernty, from the attack of the STATE of Hezbolla from the Country of Lebbanon. Which also furthers my point that ISREAL and the US get all kinds of flack about the "killing" that they do, but the enemies of Isreal and the US are NEVER held to account for the agreements that they enter into. They ignore, delay, and stall untill the "world" forgets, then they attack ISREAL and the "world" gets made when they defend themselfs

#46 I'm not against ANY country's right to defend them selves. BUT, Israel is allways defending them selves ahead of attacks from others. Hence the evel spiral of terror from all parties involved. Or is'nt it terror when Israel drops a ONE TON bomb on a building in Gaza killing 16 sivilains along side with a known Hamas leader back in 2002, just one day before peace talks was going to take place? The result:suicide bombs went off inside Israel. Which in turn resulted in more "retaliation" towards the Palestinians. Israel do this all the time, they KNOW that an action will provoke a reaction, and that way they are as guilty as any party in keeping the spiral of violence grow. Do they really want peace?

"Unconditional war can no longer lead to unconditional victory. It can no longer serve to settle disputes. It can no longer be of concern to great powers alone. #49-"Israel is always defending them selves ahead of attacks from others"
So the crossing of the ISREALIE boarder to kidnap 2 solders while killing 8 others does not constitute an attack?
#49-Or isnÕ´ it terror when Israel drops a ONE TON bomb on a building in Gaza killing 16 civilians along side with a known Hamas leader back in 2002, just one day before peace talks was going to take place?
First of all the "Peace talks" broke down in 2000 when the PLO turned down 98% of what they were asking for in the OSLO accords. The truth is without the "destruction of the STATE of ISREAL there can be no peace!
Hamas is a military organization that does not wear a uniform and deliberately locates in the middle of civilian areas, if not directly placing civilians in the line of fire, so that there will be civilian collateral damage. I will not say that Israel is justified in all cases, but how do you propose they fight an enemy who dresses like a civilian, walking amongst civilians, firing their weapons among civilians?
Your timeline and fact on HOMICIDE Bombing is incorrect as provided by the headline of this article-
1997: Suicide bombings put peace visit in doubt
Eight people have been killed and over 150 injured in a series of suicide bomb attacks in the centre of Jerusalem.
The three bombers - who are among the dead - detonated their nail bombs in a packed pedestrian area at about 1500 local time (1300 BST).
The militant Palestinian group Hamas claimed it carried out the bombings.
The explosions came within a minute of each other and appeared calculated to cause maximum civilian damage.
A survivor told reporters of the carnage and confusion immediately after the attacks.
"I heard my friend screaming and then I heard another bang - I saw blood everywhere", he said.
Palestinian leaders were quick to condemn the violence.
The Cabinet Secretary for the Palestinian Authority, Amin Abdul Rahman, called the bombings a "crime against civilian people".
Fragile peace
But the Israeli government has accused the Palestinians of not doing enough to stop groups like Hamas.
"When we see them dragging their feet in the fight against terror then I think we have a right to point the finger in their direction," a government spokesman told the BBC.
The peace process - already fragile after the suicide bomb in Mahane Yehuda market five weeks ago - now seems close to collapse.
The attack also seems intended to sabotage the peace mission of the US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, who arrives next week.
It has not yet been confirmed whether the visit will still take place.
Sorry, Erling, but you are wrong on so many levels!

#49-"Israel is always defending them selves ahead of attacks from others"
http://tinyurl.com/o7z37
Suicide bomb attacks against Israeli targets were conducted throughout the '90s, most notably in an intense period in the winter and spring of 1996. But it was really the second Intifada, beginning in September 2000, that brought the strategy to unprecedented usage, with secular Palestinian organizations eventually adopting it as well.
Visitors to the Palestinian territories over the past two years have described a society in which death for the cause of nation has become the over-riding ambition of a generation of Palestinians. Families of suicide bombers receive monetary rewards from various organizations and even foreign countries such as Saudi Arabia and Iraq; in some cases the amounts received can be far greater than what the family could expect to earn over several years, leading some to regard the financial aspect as a major incentive.

erling 43, one thing I have noticed about most of these so-called "terrorist" groups is that they are almost ALWAYS mortal enemies of the state of Israel, what a strange coincidence. Maybe Israel is feeling like their little games aren't quite as effective anymore.

Following Zakheim and Pentagon trillions to Israel and 9-11
By Jerry Mazza
Online Journal Associate Editor
Jul 31, 2006, 00:19
Think of this as part two of Recherche du trillions perdu, my Online Journal article on Dov Zakheim, former Bush appointee as Pentagon Comptroller from May 4, 2001 to March 10, 2004. At that time he was unable to explain the disappearance of $1 trillion dollars. Actually, nearly three years earlier, Donald Rumsfeld announced on September 10, 2001 that an audit discovered $2.3 trillion was also missing from the Pentagon books. That story, as I mentioned, was buried under 9-11's rubble. The two sums disappeared on Zakheim's watch.
Yet on May 6, 2004, Zakheim took a lucrative position at Booz Allen Hamilton, one of the most prestigious strategy consulting firms in the world. One of its clients then was Blessed Relief, a charity said to be a front for Osama bin Laden. Booz, Allen & Hamilton then also worked closely with DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, which is the research arm of the Department of Defense. So the dark card was shifted to another part of the deck.
Judicial Inc's bio of Dov (linked below) tells us Zakheim was/is a dual Israeli/American citizen and an ordained rabbi and had been tracking the halls of US government for 25 years, casting defense policy and influence on Presidents Reagan, Clinton, Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. He is, as I described him earlier, the bionic Zionist. In fact, Judicial Inc points out that most of Israel's armaments were gotten thanks to him. Squads of US F-16 and F-15 were classified military surplus and sold to Israel at a fraction of their value.
Judicial Inc also points out that Israel, a country of 4.8 million Russian and Polish Jewish emigres, flies on one of the biggest Air Forces in the world, thanks to Dov. Conflict of interest here? Depends on what you're interested in. That is, in 2001 Dov was CEO of SPS International, part of System Planning Corporation, a defense contractor majoring in electronic warfare technologies, including remote-controlled aircraft systems, and the notorious Flight Termination System (FTS) technology that could hijack even a hijacked plane and land or crash it wherever.
More from the resume: Wikipedia points out that Zakheim is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and in 2000 a co-author of the Project for the New American Century's position paper, Rebuilding America's Defenses, advocating the necessity for a Pearl-Harbor-like incident to mobilize the country into war with its enemies, mostly Middle Eastern Muslim nations.

Hijack 'suspects' alive and well
Another of the men named by the FBI as a hijacker in the suicide attacks on Washington and New York has turned up alive and well.
The identities of four of the 19 suspects accused of having carried out the attacks are now in doubt.
Saudi Arabian pilot Waleed Al Shehri was one of five men that the FBI said had deliberately crashed American Airlines flight 11 into the World Trade Centre on 11 September.
His photograph was released, and has since appeared in newspapers and on television around the world.
Now he is protesting his innocence from Casablanca, Morocco.

Israel continues to operate from a state of survival to expand their territory and control in the middle east.
When Israel and the U.s. begin to follow UN resolutions themselves instead of demanding "that others do as they say instead of what they do" the conflict will have a real chance of ending.
I have been convinced that Israel, the Israeli Lobby and some in the U.s. do not want Peace in the middle east.
US - Israeli UN Resolution Hypocrisy
by Stephen Lendman July 31, 2006
Two nations stand out above all others as notorious serial abusers of UN resolutions - the US and Israel. Over the last half century, the US has used its Security Council veto many dozens of times to prevent any resolutions from passing condemning Israel for its abusive or hostile actions or that were inimical to Israeli interests. It's also voted against dozens of others overwhelmingly supported by the rest of the world in the UN General Assembly. By its actions and with 6% of the world's population, the US has thus arrogantly ignored the will of nearly all the other 94% to support its client state even when Israel had committed war crimes or crimes against humanity the rest of the world demanded it be held to account for. In the words of one UK observer using a baseball analogy: "Only the USA could have a World Series and not invite the rest of the world."
The Israeli record on UN resolutions over that same period is far worse. With full US support for its actions, it's flagrantly and with little or no pretense routinely ignored over five dozen UN Resolutions condemning or censuring it for its actions against the Palestinians or other Arab people, deploring it for committing them, or demanding, calling on or urging the Jewish state to end them. Israel never did or intends to up to the present, including the mass slaughter and destruction it's now inflicting on the people of Lebanon and the Palestinians in their Territories that Israel illegally occupies and attacks whenever it wishes. It does so with impunity using any contrived pretext it can get away with to deny the Palestinians any chance ever for a viable sovereign independent state and to avoid a political solution with them it won't ever tolerate.
UN Resolutions As Examples of US and Israeli Hypocrisy
Consider now three UN Resolutions as examples of gross hypocrisy - one Israel and its US paymaster and benefactor support and two others both countries do not so they ignore them. In September, 2004, the Security Council passed UN Resolution 1559, cosponsored by the US and France, that called on Syria to withdraw its military forces from Lebanon and stop intervening in the Lebanese political process. It also demanded all Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias (aimed mainly at Hezbollah, of course) disarm and disband (meaning surrender). Following the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister, Rafik Hariri, in February, 2005, Syria bowed to international pressure and complied fully with the resolution by April. In so doing, it ended its 29 year occupation of the part of the country it controlled which excluded the rest in the South under Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) control that Israel maintained after its invasion of Southern Lebanon in 1978 and again in 1982. Hezbollah's military resistance wing did not comply. Had it done so, it would have left itself and the Shia third of the Lebanese population dependent on it defenseless against the Israelis. The Lebanese government and its small and weak security forces had no power to force Hezbollah's compliance and were unable to do it.
False Flag Operations: Declassified Military Documents Show How US Government Planned Terrorist Attacks Against its Own Citizens
Yahoo News
Thu Sep 7, 3:00 AM ET
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 7th, 2006 As reported by ABC News, stunning military documents codenamed "Operation Northwoods" were declassified in recent years and show how in 1962, the top US military leaders planned an operation to create terror attacks against its own cities and kill US citizens. The documents state that through the fabrication of false evidence, the US would blame Cuba and gain public support for an unpopular war against Castro. They included developing a fake Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, the use of airplanes, and much more.
In his newly published book "Towers of Deception" The Media Cover-Up of 9/11," Barrie Zwicker, writes about Operation Northwoods and many other such operations that the military and intelligence community refer to as "false flag operations." Zwicker is a lifelong journalist who was a media critic for 35 years and who often appeared on Canadian national TV and radio.
His book explains that these covert operations are designed to appear as if they are being carried out by other entities, such as other countries or terrorist groups, to help demonize them and justify wars for geopolitical reasons and for financial gains.
The term "false flag" is derived from the naval warfare concept of flying false colors; that is, flying the flag of a country other than one's own.
The ABC News article dated May 1, 2001 explains that Operation Northwoods was approved and signed by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Eisenhower appointee Army General Lyman L. Lemnitzer, and was presented to Kennedy's Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara on March 13, 1962.
A year earlier, President Eisenhower, apparently aware of such dangers, had warned the nation during his January 17, 1961 farewell address:
"In the counsels of Government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial Complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together." General Lemnitzer, the Eisenhower appointee and highest ranking officer of the US military in 1962, recommended that Operation Northwoods be run by the military. It was signed and approved by all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the panel comprising the highest-ranking members of each major branch of the Armed Forces.
As per the ABC News article, the only reason why Operation Northwoods did not materialize in 1962 was because it was apparently turned down by President John F. Kennedy.
By law, the President of the United States is the commander in chief. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Army, the Marine Corps, the Navy, the Air Force and the Coast Guard, are all under his command.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff website explains that based on the Goldwater-Nichols DOD Reorganization Act of 1986, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is today the principal military adviser to the President but doesnt exercise military command over any combatant forces. http://www.jcs.mil/#
The ABC News article quotes author of "Body of Secrets" Anatomy of the Ultra-Secret National Security Agency," James Bamford, a former Washington Investigative Producer for ABC's World News Tonight. He says that if such war plans against American cities were put into operation, it would have amounted to treason.
Article III, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution states: "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them..."

The latest twist in the Disney 9/11 miniseries scandal: An FBI consultant quit the project because producers were just making things up.

Bin Laden Tape Betrays 'Phony Hijacker' Contradiction
Target is "U.S. home audience," as with fake Al-Zarqawi propaganda campaign, to reinforce 9/11 myth as 5th anniversary nears
Paul Joseph Watson/Prison Planet.com | September 8 2006
A new tape showing Osama Bin Laden meeting with September 11 hijackers days before the attack has served to boost the Bush administration's war on terror agenda as the fifth anniversary of 9/11 nears, yet one of the hijackers who appears in the tape is reported elsewhere as still alive and completely unconnected to the terror plot.
The tape purports to show Bin Laden meeting with alleged 9/11 hijackers Wail Alshehri and Hamza Alghamdi days before the attack in Afghanistan.
After reports emerged that some of the named hijackers were still alive the FBI quickly changed its story to claim that some of the hijackers had stolen the identities of other individuals. Innocent people who saw their photograph amongst the 19 terrorists complained to their embassies yet the same mug shots are still used to this day and the FBI has made no effort to revise the list.
Telling therefore it is that Wail Alshehri was one of the accused hijackers reported by the L.A. Times to still be alive and protesting his innocence in Saudi Arabia after 9/11.
So how can Alshehri appear in a tape meeting with Bin Laden when he had no involvement with the plot whatsoever and is presumably still alive today? Does the Alshehri in the videotape look similar to the innocent Alshehri who was framed for the attacks? Why does the mainstream media refuse to even ask these questions, instead just blithely relaying the propaganda?
Furthermore, the other alleged hijacker in the tape, Hamza Alghamdi's original mug shot as it appeared on the splash of 19 hijackers bore, "no resemblance" to the real Hamza Alghamdi - according to his own father after being informed of his son's involvement in the attack. The Hamza Alghamdi in the new video does appear to be the same individual in the FBI's mug shot parade. As with at least seven of the hijackers, it seems that there are two of each one, and the ones that appear in the tapes are patsies or dupes.
This is by no means a stretch when we recall that many of the hijackers were trained at secure U.S. government air bases and that the FBI had its own informants living with them.
The credibility of the tape is not helped by the fact that a companion tape allegedly showing Abu Hamza al-Muhajir - who is being sold as the new Al-Qaeda frontman in Iraq - urging Iraqis to join with insurgents - contradicts reports that were picked up by Al-Jazeera itself, that al-Muhajir has been incarcerated in an Egyptian jail cell for the past seven years.
===========
Mike Rivero comment:
And here is another reason this is another fake Osama. The real Osama is 6'4", yet in this tape, "Osama" is no taller than the rest of the men he is with.
==============
How many OBL's do they have anyway? The one in the "confession" video is fat, the real one looks very ill and this new one isn't tall enough.
Recall that the Pentagon's stated intention to artificially magnify Musab Al-Zarqawi's role in Iraq was followed by the release of a video tape of Al-Zarqawi threatening the infidels.
The target of this leaked propaganda campaign to boost Al-Qaeda's profile was said to be the "U.S. home audience," and included planting fake stories in newspapers - one of which was later splashed on the front page of the New York Times.
The formula is simple. The U.S. government needs to dangle the boogeyman in front of the public at regular intervals to prop up its flailing agenda. A course of propaganda is agreed upon, the target is identified as the "U.S. home audience," and Al-Jazeera releases a new tape.
The hijackers were patsies, Osama bin Laden was a patsy - it doesn't really matter if they met or not. The other patsy in the video, Hamza Alghamdi, was trained at the behest of the U.S. government at the Pensacola Naval Air Station. But the video - as with most war propaganda - is aimed at the lowest common denominator and for most Joe Six Pack and Sally Soccer Moms it's enough to reinforce the official version of 9/11 and the legitimacy of the war on terror.
The target is again the "U.S. home audience," and allied with the White House's recent announcement that it would target conspiracy theorists as terrorist recruiters, this is another lurid effort to beat back the rampaging wildfire of enlightenment created by the burgeoning 9/11 truth movement.
Bin Laden's on screen appearances routinely intersect with politically opportune moments for the Bush administration. September 11 and its fifth anniversary is still the broken record of justification for everything the Neo-Fascists are getting away with - it's the only remaining PR ploy that Americans in large enough numbers are willing to swallow. The fact that confidence in the government version of 9/11 is hanging by a thread has provoked an unprecedented backlash from the establishment and this re-hashed tape is part of that riposte.
Regular readers won't need to be reminded of the 2001 'Osama confession tape' - rated R for ridiculous, a fat bin Laden conveniently owns up to 9/11, completely contradicting his earlier statements, on a video tape magically 'discovered' during a random house search in Jalalabad.
The April 2006 Al-Zarqawi tape followed hot on the heels of a previous Bin Laden tape that again astoundingly gave the pretext for the Bush administration to pursue its goals in Sudan, Iraq and Iran with increased worldwide support at a time when Bush's poll numbers sank to a record low of 32 per cent.
Osama just seems to employ perfect timing on every occasion to pop up right when it is most rewarding for the Neo-Cons. The October surprise in 2004, a Bush bashing Bin Laden bonanza tape, enabled George W. to secure the extra couple of points he needed to ensure re-election. Even role-playing Skull and Bones puppet John Kerry went off-script and blamed the Bin Laden video for his defeat. Veteran newsman Walter Cronkite told Larry King that the whole thing was a Karl Rove orchestrated set-up.
Expect more coincidental image boosts - gracefully supplied by Al-Qaeda - over the next few days as Karl Rove and the architects of apocalypse milk the teat of 9/11 until the cows come home.
============
Kerry thought that tape is what lost the election? I guess he hasn't heard that the vote was rigged, again. What will happen in Oct?

You've got to be lucky to make $4 Billion killing on a 6-month investment of $124 Million
Larry Silverstein is the New York property tycoon who purchased the entire WTC complex just 6 months prior to the 9/11 attacks. That was the first time in its 33-year history the complex had EVER changed ownership.
Mr. Silversteins first order of business as the new owner was to change the company responsible for the security of the complex. The new security company he hired was Securacom (now Stratasec). George W. Bush's brother, Marvin Bush, was on its board of directors, and Marvin's cousin, Wirt Walker III, was its CEO. According to public records, not only did Securacom provide electronic security for the World Trade Center, it also covered Dulles International Airport and United Airlines, two key players in the 9/11 attacks.
The company was backed by an investment firm, the Kuwait-American Corp., also linked for many years to the Bush family. KuwAm has been linked to the Bush family financially since the Gulf War. One of its principals and a member of the Kuwaiti royal family, Mishal Yousef Saud al Sabah, served on the board of Stratesec.
Now, consider: The members of a small cabal owned the WTC complex, controlled its electronic security, and also controlled the security not only for one of the airlines whose aircraft were hijacked on 9/11, but the airport from which they originated...
============
Lucky indeed. So many coincidences, so little time.
There you go with the silly predictions again. First you post an article about something that never happened and say it proves some wild-azz prediction. There's TONS of plans that were shit-canned and never used, and that doesn't prove a thing. Bush committed treason alright, but it wasn't causing causing 9/11. First it was for doing nothing when everybody told him attacks were imminent. That he twisted extreme Arabs' attacks into a completely different war against a secular country is second. Torture and illegal spying, and any number of things, but it was ARABS THAT DID 9/11. WAtch the damn tape of bin Laden with two of them! My gawd, you can't find a better 'smoking gun' than that.

Daniel Webster on Conscription
Where is it written in the Constitution, in what article or section is it contained, that you may take children from their parents, and parents from their children, and compel them to fight the battles of any war, in which the folly or the wickedness of Government may engage it? An attempt to maintain this doctrine upon the provisions of the Constitution is an exercise of perverse ingenuity to extract slavery from the substance of a free Government.
Nor is it, Sir, for the defense of his house and home that he who is the subject of military draft is to perform the task allotted to him. You will put him upon a service equally foreign to his interests and abhorrent to his feelings. With his aid you are to push your purposes of conquest. The battles which he is to fight are the battles of invasion; battles which he detests perhaps and abhors, less from the danger and the death that gather over them, and the blood with which they drench the plain, than from the principles in which they have their origin. If, Sir, in this strife he fall--if, while ready to obey every rightful command of Government, he is forced from home against right, not to contend for the defense of his country, but to prosecute a miserable and detestable project of invasion, and in that strife he fall, 'tis murder. It may stalk above the cognizance of human law, but in the sight of Heaven it is murder; and though millions of years may roll away, while his ashes and yours lie mingled together in the earth, the day will yet come, when his spirit and the spirits of his children must be met at the bar of omnipotent justice. May God, in his compassion, shield me from any participation in the enormity of this guilt.
We Believe is also part of the Mothers Against the Draft belief system.

I wonder why the Port Authority didn't purchase "terrorist" insurance? Lucky Larry doesn't have to worry about the major asbestos renovationg those buildings were to going to require, plus he made a ton of money along with getting new buildings. And, all the info. that was stored in #7 is no longer a problem. How lucky can one person get?
This is huge, gang. Daily Variety is THE trade magazine in Hollywood. As much as their "prexy Alphabet" schtick gets on my nerves, someone inside ABC or Disney has talked to Variety and is pushing the possibility that ABC might yank the mini-series altogether. I keep wondering if this mini-series is a remnant project that Eisner left behind and, if so, what does the current Disney and ABC team think about getting stuck with this fictional mess?
Is this a Robert Iger surrogate being sent out to test the waters?
"The Path to 9/11" is looking a lot like "The Reagans, Part II."
Bill Clinton loyalists are demanding wholesale changes to the upcoming miniseries — and while ABC is making some snips, the alterations, insiders say, may not please the Dems.
But a bombshell decision may happen anyway: Sources close to the project say the network, which has been in a media maelstrom over the pic, is mulling the idea of yanking the mini altogether.
This is NO time to let up pressure. In fact, this is the time to go at it even harder. Call Disney at 1-818-560-1000 or 1-818-460-7477. Call ABC at 1-212-456-7777 or 1-818-560-1000. Please be polite, but firm, regarding why you find lying to the public about 9/11 to be offensive.
You can find more information on action steps that you can take here, here and here.
This is important and we all have to apply pressure on ABC.
I am sure the true believers and Bush supporters would love to see their lies on the tube. We should not let ABC feed their delusions. It is not healthy to support a detachment from reality.

Like I said, VERY smart for insisting on terror insurance. Any business man worth his salt would've done the same thing, since his new investment was a target once already. He had to keep making payments on that lease too, without having any income from renting while he fought to get his insurance money so he could rebuild. Again, the same thing you'd do if someone wrecked your car and the insurance wouldn't pay for your claim.
So, your logic is what???... that Silverstein had a pact with bushco and pnac? That's so pitiful it isn't even funny. Why him? Who da fk is he to be cut in on some bullshyt fantasy of yours?
"It is well that war is so terrible -- lest we should grow too fond of it."
"What a cruel thing is war: to separate and destroy families and friends, and mar the purest joys and happiness God has granted us in this world; to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbors, and to devastate the fair face of this beautiful world."
"Now that Richard Armitage has confessed and explained his role in the Plame leak, a simple question: will Karl Rove do the same?"
Correction. There has been no "confession" by Armitage. Not in the sense Cornball's hyperventilating caterwauling on this subject over the course of three years is intended to imply. Armitage did nothing wrong. Rove did nothing wrong. There was a serial liar named Joey who was outed by the SSCI report and even before that. And there were the MSM liars with their moonbat conspiracy theory. A better question might be "If the Wash. Compost liars hadn't decided to quit playing the moonbat game ... would the NYT rag have trashed Armitage in order to keep the game going?"

a pact with bushco? NAH, he just prefers to use bushco companies for building security. sorta like cheney and halliburton.

"I think I understand what military fame is; to be killed on the field of battle and have your name misspelled in the newspapers."
NAH, he just prefers to use bushco companies for building security.
Another mistake. Bush's brother USED to work for that security company, but was looooong gone by then... and he worked FOR the company, he didn't own it.
Breaking news!! The format for the movie; Path to 9/11, has been changed by Disney, the parent company of ABC.
The new script described as revolutionary has the Seven Dwarfs hijacking the 101 Dalmations and running them up Donald Ducks butt while Mickey Mouse and Goofy watch.
Purported to relieve the pressure from protests against airing the original plot.
Let's see, one of them bush's was with the insurance company that had to pay Silversteing, if I remember correctly. If so, that's just the opposite of what you're trying to insinuate. They didn't profit at all, it cost them alotta money. Where does that fit into your fantasy?
According to top military leaders, our military forces are seriously over-stretched and at the breaking point.
In spite of huge signing bonuses and other enlistment incentives, there simply aren't enough new recruits to keep pace with our current military commitments much less the additional troops that will be needed to carry out an increasingly insane foreign policy of global interventionism and pre-emptive war.
As a result, the Pentagon has taken extreme measures to stop the hemorrhage including issuing "stop-loss" orders that force those who have volunteered to serve in our military to stay long beyond the terms of their enlistment contract, reducing admission standards to recruit those who would not have otherwise qualified for service, lengthening tours of duty, increasing the number of rotations, and unlawfully placing women into combat positions.
Given these facts, the threat of a new draft is far more real than most would like to admit.
It is clear that Congress must immediately re-evaluate our foreign policy and reduce our overseas military commitments or... conscript our sons and daughters into some form of compulsory national service. There simply aren't any other choices.
Unfortunately, there is no sign from Congress that they intend to reduce our foreign military entanglements. In fact, the opposite is true with many members of Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, supporting the use of our military to bring about "regime change" in Iran and Syria as well.
If you are as concerned as we are about the threat of a new draft, it's time to stand-up and tell Congress that compulsory service is NOT an option - BEFORE they yank our sons, daughters, and husbands from our homes and our schools and conscript them into service in yet another war of choice.
With your help we can make sure that our elected Representatives in Congress understand that if they move to violate the God-given rights of our children and grandchildren through mandatory national service programs or an outright military draft, we won't just be concerned, we'll give new meaning to the old saying, "When momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"
no matter what silverstein, bin laden, bushco or even tim the conservative says, NIST says that the wtc2 'collapsed' in 9 seconds flat - that's the same length of time it would take a bowling ball dropped from the same height to hit the ground in a vacuum.
in a vacuum? what does that have to do with it?
that means no air resistance - so how could the 110 story wtc2 'collapse' in that short amount of time unless the columns were magically removed from top to bottom?
it was magic! in a world where a beer can-like aluminum 767 can disappear entirely into the massive steel/concrete wtc2 without even slowing down it is no problem for those same massive steel columns to magically unhook themselves thus allowing 110 stories of wtc to crumble to the ground in only 9 seconds.
that is the inconvenient fact that tim the conservative must have been referring to.

From Wayne Madsen today:
Sept. 8/9/10, 2006 -- According to a source who knew the late FBI John O'Neill, the head of the Joint Terrorism Task Force in New York and the man who fought bureaucratic meddling in his investigation of the October 2000 USS Cole bombing and the Saudi connection to the funding of Al Qaeda, was also investigating Israeli "art students" and "movers" engaged in suspicious activity around sensitive facilities prior to the 911 attacks. O'Neill, who accepted the job as head of World Trade Center security just prior to 911 and after his retirement from the Bureau, was killed when the South Tower collapsed.
It is known that O'Neill was extremely upset at what he considered interference in his investigation of the Saudis and Israelis by the highest levels of the Bush administration and the FBI bureaucracy. WMR conducted a major investigation of the Israeli "art students" and "movers" story.
O'Neill was put under official FBI investigation after his briefcase, containing classified documents, was stolen at an FBI pre-retirement conference in Florida and recovered by police a few hours later in another Orlando hotel -- classified papers intact -- with a Montblanc pen, lighter, and cigar cutter missing. It is believed that among the documents contained in O'Neill's briefcase were reports about Israeli intelligence activity -- reports that originally emanated from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and later contained in a massive DEA report on the suspicious activities of the Israeli operatives in locations where the future 911 hijackers were also active.
With a majority of Americans opposing the war in Iraq, George Bush is going around the country desperately trying the sell his disastrous military adventure as part of the war on terror. And while he might fool some of the people, most people are not buying it. A CNN poll released on Wednesday found that the majority of Americans, 53 percent, didn't think the war in Iraq was part of the war on terror. Even more interesting was another survey conducted by Pew Research Center showing, by 45 percent to 32 percent, that Americans were more likely to think the best way to reduce the terror threat is to cut, not add, U.S. military presence overseas.
With elections coming up in just two months, it's time for us to turn this anti-war sentiment into a powerful voter bloc. Let's take the message that Connecticut voters sent to Joe Lieberman and send it all over the country: We will not vote for candidates who support George Bush's lies and George Bush's war!
So today, we are launching an exciting new campaign: Give Peace a Vote, which is part of a broad coalition called Voters for Peace. We want to keep Iraq on the front burner during this election season, and put pro-war candidates on the hot seat. Give Peace a Vote is a way to let candidates across this land know that we will not give the

We Believe
Where is it written in the Constitution, in what article or section is it contained, that you may take children from their parents, and parents from their children, and compel them to fight the battles of any war, in which the folly or the wickedness of Government may engage it? An attempt to maintain this doctrine upon the provisions of the Constitution is an exercise of perverse ingenuity to extract slavery from the substance of a free Government.

Another Scoop from 'Hubris': Plame Was Working on WMD

David,
Give it up already, you are such a jerk.

Book: Rove withheld crucial CIA leak email for nearly a year
Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove withheld a crucial email from CIA leak investigators for eleven months, according to an upcoming book that arrives in bookstores today.

Bush supporters condemn fictionalized political mini-series -- in 2003
(updated below - updated again - and updated again)

Judging from the accounts that have been creeping into the press and the promotional bits played by Matt Drudge as a fill-in host on Rush Limbaugh's radio show, the miniseries is a vicious smear of Reagan and his wife Nancy. . . .

Body Count in Baghdad Nearly Triples
Morgue's Revised Toll for August Undermines Claims by Leaders of Steep Drop in Violence
By Ellen Knickmeyer
Washington Post Foreign Service
Friday, September 8, 2006;

WHY DID REGAN IGNORE "WISER PEOPLE" AND SEND AMERICAN TROOPS TO LEBONON?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multinational_Force_in_Lebanon
The Multinational Force in Lebanon (also MNF) was an international peacekeeping force created in 1982 and sent to Lebanon to oversee the withdrawal of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. The participants included contingents of United States Marines, French paratroopers, Italian soldiers, and British soldiers.
Ok-LEE let's look at the hisory of Hezbollah:
Timeline of Hezbollah Violence
Hezbollah and its history of international terrorism and violence:
http://www.camera.org/index.asp?x_context=2&x_outlet=118&x_article=1148

'Hubris' Chosen As Word of the Year
"HUBRIS" is the word of the year -- just as it could have been 24 centuries ago.

Oh, was'nt it that only the "Islamo Facists" was planning terrorist acts? I don't think those Belgium "Facists" are supporters of the other "Facist" group. (White Power, eh?).

Mousegate Update: 9/11 lies
FBI agent quit because producers were "just making things up."
The latest twist in the Disney 9/11 miniseries scandal: An FBI consultant quit the project because producers were just making things up.
Think Progress reports that intelligence expert James Bamford revealed on MSNBC that an FBI agent who consulted on Disney's miniseries "The Path to 9/11" quit the project halfway through because he believed that the producers were "just making things up".

===========
Mike Rivero comment:
And here is another reason this is another fake Osama. The real Osama is 6'4", yet in this tape, "Osama" is no taller than the rest of the men he is with.
==============
How many OBL's do they have anyway? The one in the "confession" video is fat, the real one looks very ill and this new one isn't tall enough.
Posted by: Saladin at September 8, 2006 12:30 PM
============
Kerry thought that tape is what lost the election? I guess he hasn't heard that the vote was rigged, again. What will happen in Oct?

Sunday, 23 September, 2001, 12:30 GMT 13:30 UK Hijack 'suspects' alive and well
Now you too, with the 5 year old, DEBUNKED a looooooong time ago article. Well, you and Paul Craig Roberts. Dunno if y'all are dishonest, or just dumb.
The BBC refer to him as "Waleed Al Shehri", for instance, but the hijacker named by the FBI is Waleed M. Al Shehri. Only one initial, but it's still enough to mean they may not have the same name.
Also, unfortunately for the "still alive" stories, there are reports that the BBCs Waleed is indeed an entirely different person called Waleed A Al Shehri.
Now, what's next, quotes from an economist on laws of physics?? That 'hijacked planes' can be taken over remotely was really a knee-slapper.

Larry "Lucky Larry" Silverstein

Mothers Against The Draft
Dear Cornposters:
Mothers Against the Draft website should be at least a weekly visit. Mothers will be the key persons in whether or not sons, daughters, and husbands will be killed to satisfy a madman's ego. We need mothers to speak out to defend their families. God bless the mothers!!!
Here is a quote from Mothers Against the Draft.
WHEN MOMMA AIN'T HAPPY, AIN'T NOBODY HAPPY!!!
I love the quote!!!
WE BELIEVE...
Sincerely,
Gerald

ACTION: Variety: ABC Thinking About Yanking Path to 9/11
This is huge, gang.

Posted by: Alan at September 8, 2006 01:47 PM
Why are we concerned?
Because we'd be fools not to be!

A Code Pink Message!!!
September 8, 2006
Dear Gerald,
With a majority of Americans opposing the war in Iraq, George Bush is going around the country desperately trying the sell his disastrous military adventure as part of the war on terror. And while he might fool some of the people, most people are not buying it. A CNN poll released on Wednesday found that the majority of Americans, 53 percent, didn't think the war in Iraq was part of the war on terror.
